A gentleman thief's code, for the last biscuit

With ComplimentsCalling cards for small everyday pinches

List a few small things you took and answer four quick questions about each. The page checks every pinch against a three-article code, lays a calling card for it on a silver tray and calls it, for free: gentleman thief, charming rogue, or return it.

Up to six. Only the name is required. Keep names and personal details out of it - the card is addressed by role.

One run writes a short, polite calling card for each pinch, explains every verdict from your own answers and words the mend. The page's verdicts stay as they are.

How the page decides

The old gentleman-thief tradition: take only what will hardly be missed, own up with a calling card, and make it good. Here that is a three-article code - take only a trifle (Barely 2, A little 1, A lot 0), make it good (Replace it or Give it back 2, Make it up another way 1, Nothing yet 0) and never take the last one (No 1, Yes 0) - so each pinch has 0 to 5 honour points.

The verdict, first match wins: money, valuables, documents, medicine, or anything from a shop or a stranger - or a thing missed a lot with nothing planned - or honour 0-1 - return it; honour 4-5 - gentleman thief; otherwise - charming rogue. The weakest article is the one furthest from full marks (ties go to the article listed first). The finest pinch is the gentleman-thief pinch with the most honour points, ties to the pinch higher on your list.

It is a playful game about trivial household pinches, not advice and not a judgement of anyone. Never take anything that is not yours to take; when in doubt, ask first or give it back. The page only sees what you type, so keep names and personal details out of it, and leave a card for one person rather than posting it anywhere public.
